Pokémon Gets Another iOS App With Camp Pokémon

By Ishaan . October 21, 2014 . 10:00am

Following the release of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, another free Pokémon app is now available on iOS devices. Camp Pokémon is an app where you visit a Pokémon camp, where you can explore and partake in Pokémon-themed activities like “Poké Ball Throw” and “Find the Pokémon”.

Also included is a Pokémon evolution test, which tests your knowledge of Pokémon evolutionary chains, and a Photo Booth that lets you decorate pictures of yourself with Pokémon stickers. These activities allow you to collect Pokémon Pins for a virtual pin book, and unlock new levels in the various mini-games you can play.

You’ll need iOS 7 or higher to play Camp Pokémon. The app is being released a month before the launch of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the next major Pokémon RPGs, which will be released on November 21st in North America and November 28th in Europe.

aren’t nintendo and apple direct competitors in the handheld market?

    • Miss_Madness

No, not at all. Since nintendo doesn’t make phones.

      • Except yes, yes at all when it comes to games. iOS has always wanted to steal Nintendo’s exclusives and become THE major handheld gaming device. So I would say they are competitors. Now concerning these pokemon “games”; these are just silly things to market the real games for Nintendo. Just another marketing ploy and we can safely dismiss the idea that they’re considering Apple as a serious platform for their future installments.
