Sony are holding a discount sale on the PlayStation Network in North America and Europe, in celebration of Halloween for the next couple of weeks. The sale will see a number of PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Vita and PSP games available at discounted rates.

Some of the games available on sale in North America during the next week include: Darkstalkers Resurrection, Demon’s Souls, Dead Space 2, the PS2 Fatal Frame games, and Daylight. Week 2 will include games such as Corpse Party, Castlevania, Rain and more.

Meanwhile, movies and TV shows are being discounted, too. A full list of the discounts can be found on the PlayStation Blog.

Update: A sale is now ongoing in Europe as well.

  • Nesther

Yurop is also having a sale.

  • Combo

It should be noted that, while Fatal Frame 1 & 2 are both on sale for $6.99/$4.89 with PS+, Amazon has a bundle with PSN codes for both for $7.98. Just so you know.

  • MinakoArisato

    Corpse Party being even cheaper?
Those interested in suspenseful and tragic stories should DEFINATELY buy this right now.

  • Freakmasta

Is Rain considered as a horror/dark game? I thought it was just kids running in the rain.

    • Monterossa

we have Plant vs. Zombie on sale too.

    • Skye Johnson

Maybe not horror per se, but the characters are ghosts, iirc? Or something along those lines. That fulfills the Halloween requirement.

  • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Next week people with a PSV / PSP should definitely grab CP: Blood Covered and Blood Drive if they didn’t already. Those games are amazing. And I need people to show interest so XSEED will bring Blood Drive overseas~.

  • neogeno

Strongly recommend Corpse Party if you haven’t tried it yet.

  • Kroz

Funny, I was actually gonna buy symphony of the night cause I havent played in for years plus Halloween. Guess I’ll just wait till next week :D

    • Wait what

If you’ve got a PSP or a Vita I highly recommend getting Dracula X Chronicles instead. It comes with a fantastic remake of Rondo of Blood, the original Rondo of Blood, and a re-translated/re-dubbed Symphony of the Night. (you have to unlock the latter two, but it’s very easy to do so).

      • Christopher Nunes

Re-translated/re-dubbed? What was wrong with the original localization? Did they have to cut corners?

        • Tom_Phoenix

Well, like with many localisations from the 90’s, the dialogue was blunt, cheesy and not particularly well translated. While this did have some entertaining results (“WHAT IS A MAN?!”), one could hardly call it professional work.

To be fair, the new dub is also kind of cheesy, but it’s still a marked improvement over the original:

        • Wait what

The original translation was notoriously loose and cheesy, as was the standard for game localizations at the time. Sure, it’s iconic now, but having a more faithful and serious take on it is good too. Think of it like the difference between the dialog in the original RE1 versus the REmake.

          • Christopher Nunes

I see, though I’ve never seen the dialog between the localization to original context.

      • Kroz

Whoa I actually had no idea it included Sotn! (was only aware of the original rondo of blood)
Thanks, I’ll get Dracula x chronicles instead.

  • xanxux

I think I will get both corpse party

  • Juan Andrés Valencia

    Cheap Outlast? Yes!

  • Revolver Jesus Super Pimp

FUCK! I just bought Corpse Party yesterday…….knew I should’ve waited just a little longer but if I hadn’t of bought it yesterday I probably never would have got around to it.

    • Byron Kerrison II

      I know that feel…

    • mingledorff

is the PSN version Japanese only or does it have English as well?

      • Revolver Jesus Super Pimp

        Japanese only with English subs.

    • Barrylocke89

Surprised you didn’t wait a couple days since a Halloween sale makes perfect sense.

Oh well. I got it day 1 and it was worth all 20 of my bucks. Hopefully you enjoy it too.

      • Revolver Jesus Super Pimp

Yeah, I don’t know. I probably would have just put it off more and more even though lately I’ve had all the time and money to buy and play it. So far I don’t regret it, worth every effin’ penny

    • smashimi

Meanwhile I’m still waiting for it to be accessible in Aus.

  • Shady

does any body know if The Evil Within will be on sale?

  • PenguinPlayer

Rain is pretty good, don’t be deceived by the walking simulator/seeming prententiouness of it, it’s pretty heartwarming and not as easy as people usually think. It kills you quite often, but has generous checkpoints, if you played Limbo you know what I’m talking about. It’s not really “horror” though, but still a good game.

MIGHT pick up FF 1-3, heard they’re spooky. Corpse Party seems like a good idea too, I heard good things about it.

  • Göran Isacson

Aww, no Rain for Europe. Pity, I’ve had my eyes on that one.

    • You spoke too soon. Read again.

      • Göran Isacson

Oho, a valiant attempt to overturn my strike… YET FUTILE!

By which I mean yeah I checked the post detailing the sales in Europe, and Rain isn’t among the titles on sale in Europe. Alas.

        • ehtnah

maybe we will have it on week 2 (like US)? but yes it’s possible that we will not have it (that won’t be the first time) but Rain has been on sale several time (I’ve bought it on sale in Europe).

  • Hound

Ah. I’ll probably pick up Fatal Frame II & III, Corpse Party, Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night

  • Neil Q

And no Costume Quest 2 for consoles, sale or no sale? This is crazypants right here.

  • notentirelythere

They’re selling that Silent Hill dungeon crawler for 15 bucks, even on sale… the game goes for less than that on Amazon for the physical!

  • cacadodo666 .

what kind of Halloween sale is it with no Resident Evil?

  • I made site with all PSN discounts in one place. Please, check this out: http://psprices.com/region-us/index
