Yo-kai Watch 2 Ships Over Three Million Units In Japan

By Spencer . November 7, 2014 . 12:10am

image Level-5’s Yo-kai Watch is one of the biggest hits in Japan. Over three million units of Yo-kai Watch 2 have shipped since the title launched on July 10 in Japan. Back in August, Level-5 announced the game shipped two million units.

Like the Inazuma Eleven games and Pokemon titles, there are two versions of Yo-kai Watch 2, Head and Founder. A third version, Yo-kai Watch 2: Headliner (pictured), is slated for release on December 13.

The Yo-kai Watch series goes beyond video games, Level-5 has an anime, comic, and tons of Yo-kai Watch character goods too.

And thanks to Level 5 never having to worry about money again, they announce Dark Cloud 3 just for the heck of it. We Wish.

Why do people keep asking Level-5 to make Dark Cloud 3?
Dark Cloud is a SONY’S IP, NOT Level-5’s!
Go ask Sony to make Dark Cloud 3 instead!

      • Xerain

Because if level 5 doesn’t make it, we don’t want it.

        • Codename: D.A.V.I.D.

But you still need to ask Sony first to get the funds :P

          • Satori Satya

And then they’ll have to ask Level-5 if they rather work with a dead IP instead of counting that endless Youkai Watch money.

            ;)

Developer is developer. They can make a spiritual sequel if Sony owns the rights to the franchise.

And if Sony doesn’t, then it could work out like the Wild ARMs series.

Ain’t no stopping the Yokai Watch Train! Choo choo!

  • xanox

NA and EU release when? Never. Why? Because the Japanese don’t understand our market and vice versa. :/

      2015

    • Satori Satya

“Level-5 president Akihiro Hino has revealed that it’s latest IP Youkai watch will be headed to western shores in 2015”

      2015….. a.k.a. “Never”.

  • Renaldi Saputra

    Stronk as always

  • Tsurugi

This Nintendo Direct only needed to say that Yo-Kai Watch, Inazuma Eleven 2(US) and Inazuma Eleven GO 2 (EU) will arrive in the west…..

    • Malon

Yokai watch has already been confirmed a few weeks ago, but sadly it seems like it’s not coming this year :(

    • Kalis Konig

You sound like me under every Level-5 related article. Don’t forget about The Little Battlers Experience as well lol.

      • Tsurugi

I will always write something about IE GO 2 CS and YoKai Watch and LBX in any Level-5 mention , they will bring those games to us =D

  • Meanwhile, Yo-kai Watch ships 0 million units to Europe.

  • Adrian Duran

This might be one if the best selling series (not on PC) that never gets localized

  • Paul Rodriguez

Still waiting to see the game here. Level 5, why have you forsaken us?

    • Satori Satya

2015, my man. Wait until 2015.

They already said that that’s the year when it (may) come our way here.

    • Rein

If Fantasy Life was localized, everything is possible!

    • Kalis Konig

Its because LEvel 5 does not want to localize games like Yokai Watch and Little Battlers until someone also buys the rights to merchandising and Anime. Level-5 really needs to create their own international publishing company if they plan on doing this with every series they pop-out. They said Yokai Watch will likely come in 2015 but they gave false hope for Little Battlers since 2012. The anime for little battlers just started airing in August. The way they handle their franchises outside of Japan is a mess right now.
