Close Castles Is A PS4 Cutie, Competitive RTS From The Creator Of Threes!

Asher Vollmer, creator of big mobile hit puzzler Threes!, has announced that his next game Close Castles will be coming to PlayStation 4.

It’s an RTS that is built around speed, with matches lasting around three minutes or so, and focuses on delivering a local multiplayer experience.

“Buliding the game for a controller has inspired me to make the controls as simple as possible. You move your cursor around the field and press a button to build structures. What you build and where you build it will determine you and your opponent’s collective fate,” Vollmer wrote on the PlayStation Blog.

The concept of Close Castles is, quite simply, that you and your rival(s) have built your castles in close proximity of each other. And so you each battle for the limited land around you to build a kingdom and then take down the others’ structures.

Vollmer has employed artist Dominique Ferland, who works at Tribute Games (Wizorb, Mercenary Kings), to give the game a cute and iconic look.

No other platforms have been announced for Close Castles as of yet. Expect more information on the game’s website soon.
