New Legend Of Heroes Evolution Project In Development

By Spencer . December 18, 2014 . 11:08pm

imageFalcom with help from Kadokawa Games and Char-Ani brought The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Zero and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Blue to PlayStation Vita under the Evolution series. The Vita ports had enhanced graphics, full voice acting, and extended story sequences.

A new project in the Evolution series is in the works. More details about it will be revealed soon. Since Falcom already brought all three Trails in the Sky games to PlayStation 3, maybe Trails of Nayuta, a story driven action RPG, will get a PlayStation Vita port.

Guess this would have to be either be Nayuta or Sora. I almost hope it’s not Sora, it’d be kind of a bummer if Japan got snazzy remakes of the trilogy while the rest of us are still waiting for SC. :v

Alternatively, maybe it’ll be PS3 or PS4 ports of Zero and Ao Evolution?

    • chocodino

or maybe Sen no Kiseki I Evolution……

      • AkuLord3

That wouldn’t happen for especially with Sen no Kiseki doing must of what the evolution games have done.

  • riobravo79

Any word on the PSP port of the second Legend of Heroes game? THAT’s the one I’m waiting for…

    • AkuLord3

We’re still on the wait since they wanted to get both Psp abd PC releases out. Won’t be seeing it until early 2015.

      • riobravo79

Great news. As long as it hasn’t been cancelled, I’ll wait as long as necessary. And with a Vita TV I can hear that beautiful score on the big screen. Thanks for the info.

    Meanwhile in the west… … …

  • Bojan Njegomir

Why do you even publish these?! Why do i keep reading?! It’s not that we’l ble able to play them anyway! :-/

  • A hint have been posted on Falcom Twitter. This silhouette. More chance to be Sora no Kiseki Evolution

    • Yeah definitely~
Full Voice acting and who knows, maybe new characters, skills, smaller battlefields like in Zero, new cut scenes and new story content etc….
well, its either learn japanese or die waiting ..

      • Guest

well not necessarily, the translation of the dialogues are already done and that is what take the most time.

        • Yeah, that’s true. But I doubt the programming/editing is going to be as easy as copy pasting the whole thing into english ..
so yeah..better brush up themz japanese or be left out. =/

    • DesmaX

      Yup, it’s Sora no Kiseki

    • Ren

Wait, that’s Eolia, a Bracer that appears in both Crossbell games… Zero and Ao Evo HD?

      …Please don’t be that.

  • Nayuta would be the least getting an evolution.
Nayuta was more of a novelty than anything else.

  • TheLastVillain

Trails in the Sky sold well in the west(psp AND pc), but Falcom didn’t localize the 2nd yet, and we’ll probably never see Eiyuu Densetsu Sen no Kiseki 1 + 2 :(

    • Astraye

Xseed will bring Trails in the Sky SC in 2015 and if it sold well they could consider localize the others.

    • Learii

      I know =(

    • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Trails in the Sky FC did NOT sell well on the PSP. XSEED stated so back in the day which is why the resources allocated to SC were minimal as there is no way to justify the investment in such a project when the sales were so low. I’ve no idea how Steam / GoG did though~.

      • Barrylocke89

The opening days of the Western PC release of Trails in the Sky was the best opening days of a PC release that Xseed has had so far. It looks like FC has done way better on PC than on PSP, though whether it does good enough to go into the 3rd and beyond will depend heavily on how SC does.

        • Kai2591

that’s good to know. must support them on Steam!
man, Japanese game makers should really take advantage of Steam. It really helps boost sales a LOT. Thankfully, it looks like they’re starting to realize Steam’s potential. eg. Valkyria Chronicles enjoyed so much support with its recent re-release on PC :)

          • Barrylocke89

I agree. If Xseed continues forth with the Kiseki games, it’d be great if Falcom would at least localize the Chinese (drm filled) Aoi no Kiseki. And of course the Sen games aren’t on PC at all. It sucks that any chance of getting this in the west is reliant on getting non Vita versions, but if that’s how it is than so be it.

        • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

XSEED already said this year that 3rd was off the question. So no matter how well or not SC does, I doubt we will be seeing 3rd localized. At least, not by XSEED~.

          • Barrylocke89

Source? Everytime I’ve heard the 3rd mentioned, it’s implied that it’s still a possibility, but very dependent on prior support for the series (in other words FC and SC being a success). With the recent success of the PC FC, I can’t help but think that there’s still a possibility, even if it’s nowhere near 100%.

Some may argue that it will only exclude the PSP version but the PC version will be up for grabs. However, based on the argument for not bringing the CP side story games http://www.siliconera.com/2013/11/29/xseed-passing-final-corpse-party-psp-unchained-blades-exxiv/ chances are that 3rd won’t be localized altogether. 3rd is more like a gaiden rather than a full entry in the SnK trilogy even if some events in that game carry on to the rest of the saga~.

          • Barrylocke89

True, but the things that happen in the game are still canon, and more importantly, they carry over with the same fans because the game style and gameplay is likely similar, so the fanbase remains the same.

The problem that Sachiko Birthday game had is that its theme was romantic comedy, while the actual Corpse Party games are horror. A lot of people (including myself) who loved the originals would pass up this version for that reason, and I don’t see too many people making up the difference (for one, games like this are best if you know about the characters, ie played the original game). Add that to the fact that the PSP has been dead for years, and its a no brainer that its not coming out.

I agree it’s best to be realistic with this, but the two situations you presented are very different.

          • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t. Point remains: XSEED officially stated no new PSP games are going to be localized unless a miracle happens with Revenant’s sales, which in this scenario, means it’s almost certain that it’ll exclude SnK 3rd~.

  • Pedro Furtado

I’m already 20 hours in on Sora no Kiseki 2 on the PS3… :( Guess I might replay Sora no Kiseki 1 with the new stuff though

  • Kornelious

If I had to take a guess, it’s probably a PS4 or PS3 re-collection….. Which is good so that when XSeed finish with TiTS (whenever that may be -_-) they can just localize the collection! (Though why they didn’t just localize the PS3 version for TiTS, I will never know :/)
