Batman: Arkham Knight’s Locked Frame Rate On PC Gets It Down Voted To Hell

Recommended Videos

The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is locked at 30 frames per second. And, as Reddit user “Lafirynda” demonstrates, if you attempt to unlock that cap the frame rates drop horrendously. “Lafirynda” proved this with a series of afterburner performance logs that show sudden drops in frame rate when trying to run the game above its 30fps cap.

Not only this, but many Steam players are giving the game negative reviews reporting that the game’s frame rate stutters regularly or completely crashes due to the game’s bad optimization, and that’s even when adhering to the 30fps cap.

Making players a little more salty is the fact that Rocksteady updated the PC specs only a few hours before the game was launched. In this update, Rocksteady stated that it was aware of some of the issues the game would cause before the complaints had started rolling in.

“We also want to note that there are some known issues with the performance of Batman: Arkham Knight for PC owners using AMD graphics cards,” the update reads. “We are working closely with AMD to rectify these issues as quickly as possible and will provide updates here as they become available. We thank you for your patience in this matter.”

Another update from Rocksteady then arrived hours later with updated drivers for AMD graphics cards. So far it seems that these updated drivers have fixed the issues for some while others it has made no difference.

Issues such as these have cropped up before recently with Project Cars and The Witcher 3. But this mainly affected players of those games with AMD Radeon graphics cards. However, it seems that the frame rate issues go beyond affecting AMD graphics cards with Arkham Knight as those with NVIDIA graphics cards are reporting similar issues.
