Monster Hunter X Trailers Show What’s New With The Lance And Gunlance

Recommended Videos

We previously got a look at some new moves from the Great Sword, Long Sword, Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Hunting Horn, and Hammer. The latest Monster Hunter X videos from Capcom show us what’s new with the Lance and Gunlance.

Similar to all the other weapons we’ve seen thus far, the Guild Style will let you play Lance the same way you did in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. The Aerial Style brings more jump action to your game, as it makes it easier to hit enemies from above.

The Lance’s Hunting Art is called “Shield Assault,” a special move that lets you charge towards the enemy with the shield and follow up with a strong hit against the monster.

The next video demonstrates the destructive Gunlance of Monster Hunter X. After a look at its traditional controls with the Guild Style, we get to see some mid-air action with its Aerial Style demonstration, which allows you to jump up and get a shot on your target.

The Gunlance’s Hunting Art uses explosive energy to create a giant fire ball attack after a short charge. Judging by the way it knocked over the Khezu with little trouble, it looks like it’ll be a fun one to use.

Monster Hunter X will release in Japan on November 28, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.
