The Legend Of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes’ Update Adds Den Of Trials, Outfits, Stamps And More Friendly Tokens

A rather large update for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes was among the announcements made during the November Nintendo Direct, and tomorrow the update will go through that adds all of the additional items and improvements to the game. Nintendo has revealed all the details about almost every addition coming to the Nintendo 3DS game, so people can be prepared and look for what’s being added.

The biggest addition is the Den of Trials. The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes’ new location is a dungeon with 30 levels to it, instead of the traditional four. Unlike the other dungeons’ floors, each level in this area also gets more difficult.

It is joined by two new outfits. One is Linebeck’s Uniform, inspired by the captain of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass’ Lineback, owner of the ship Link uses throughout the game. He was something of a pirate, which carries over to the costume as it allows Link to see inside closed chests. The other costume that can be crafted after the update is the Fierce Deity Armor, inspired by Link’s form in The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Just as in the other game, putting the outfit on allows him to shoot beams from his sword. As with all The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes’ costumes, this means new Miiverse Stamps to accompany them.

The other changes are best described as quality of life fixes for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes. People can now blacklist a teammate who has abandoned the game by tapping their Hero Panel after they’re gone. You’ll also fill out a brief questionnaire before being matched up for online play, to help group people with similar playstyles.

Completionists will be pleased to know that it will be possible to get Friendly Tokens from a Hytopian vendor after beating the game. Previously, Friendly Tokens were only available after participating in a Local or Download Play session with someone who you hadn’t played The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes with before, and 8 were needed to create the Tri Suit and Timeless Tunic.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes’ 2.0.0 update, which adds all of these additional features, will be available for Nintendo 3DS owners on December 2. People who want to keep playing online will have to download the update in order to continue doing so.
