Dragon Quest Builders On Exploring Its World And Encounters With Its People

Dragon Quest Builders is releasing on January 22 for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, and Square Enix has provided the latest on the game with details on what awaits in the blocky world of Alefgard.

While traveling around away from town in Dragon Quest Builders, you’ll occasionally come across places that may often go overlooked, but upon closer inspection, you’ll learn about its unknown mysteries. Reviving Alefgard is the main point of the game, but you’ll have other objectives on the side that involves helping others, and may even get rewarded handsomely for your efforts.

The above shows a skeleton surrounded by flowers, next to a Metal Hunter that is no longer moving. This one might require you to place some objects nearby for a certain happening.

The next one features a Hammerhood that says that his older brother disappeared before he was able to learn about making graves. There’s a treasure chest in the back, so maybe you can get it after helping him find his bro.

A woman at the outdoor bath feels that she is being watched from somewhere. While you can help close the wall properly to prevent that from happening, there seems to be a bit more to it…

In the ruined world of Alefgard, there are many people waiting for help from the protagonist. Helping them out will not only aid in the revival of Alefgard, but they’ll also give you clues to the truth of the world.

Here’s a man who used to run an arms shop. He’ll teach you how to make powerful equipment, something that has been passed down from his ancestors.

The self-proclaimed prophet Mutsuheta is a mysterious old man you’ll meet along the journey. It’s almost as if he knew you were coming, and will try to lead you somewhere.

This young man’s ancestor was said to be a lover of the harp. He, too, is also a lover of music and instruments, but he doesn’t seem to have a harp.

Some of you veteran adventurers may recognize monsters that are found across Alefgard in some unexpected areas. Sometimes, it’ll feel like a bit of a waste to just fight them.

This Dragon looks like it’s having a cozy nap while guarding the treasure chest.

It wouldn’t be a proper Dragon Quest game without a King Slime! They can form together the same way we’ve seen them do countless times before.

And who could forget the dastardly Metal Slime? They’ll swiftly run around and probably dodge most of your attacks, but they’re definitely worth the trouble. Instead of experience points, it seems like they’ll give valuable material.

Dragon Quest Builders will release in Japan on January 28, 2016 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. A demo will be available on January 22 for PS4 and PS Vita.
