A new trailer for Between The City and The Needle, the alien conversation sim, demonstrates how its conversation mechanics will let players discover if they are talking to an alien that needs to be executed.
Players will be given a handful of topics to speak to each subject about. Each topic can also be delivered with a certain tone, from charming to encouraging to intimidating, and these will yield different results with different people, sometimes closing or opening new subjects.
Players can review the character’s answers at any time, which will help guide their decision on whether the subject is human or not. When the player feels they can make a decision, they can choose to execute or release their subject.
In Between The City and The Needle, players live in a world where an unknown species is masquerading as humans. To find out which ones are alien beings, they will have to converse with the creature, looking for reasons to believe they aren’t what they say they are.
