One Piece: Grand Pirate Colosseum Shows Off Gameplay Action In Its First Trailer

Recommended Videos

Arc System Games is making Bandai Namco’s next One Piece game with One Piece: Grand Pirate Colosseum for 3DS, and its first trailer gives us a look at Luffy and others in action.

The video starts out with a look at its combat featuring the Mugiwara Pirates and other key characters from the series. It shows that you’ll get to pull off combos using simple commands and each character has their own unique moves.

At the 0:46 mark of the video, we get a look at the “Jet Slide” feature, which is where you knock an enemy in the air and you have a rock-paper-scissors session using the X, Y, and A buttons. The next part shows how team work comes into play, where you can switch out characters at any time or get support from assist characters. You can mix and match all kinds of different characters to form a team.

Following is a look at some dramatic exchanges that are performed by timing heavy attacks to parry against the opponent’s hits. If you can out-time them, you can follow up with more damages through combos. The “Rio Gigant Combo” feature shows us its special moves.

One Piece: Grand Pirate Colosseum will release in Japan on September 21, 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
