Dragon Quest VII Trailer Shows What To Expect From Fights

Recommended Videos

Nintendo’s latest Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past trailer focused on the fights people will encounter as they attempt to restore the present through trips into the past. Enemies wander the field, each with their own specific pattern and plan. When you run into one of them, a turn-based battle will begin.

In battle, players have a number of options to choose from when preparing to attack. They can use a standard attack with the weapon they have equipped, use a magic spell or special ability, use an item, defend, or free. Since enemies appear on the battlefield, running could leave you running into another, different fight. You can also set pre-determined tactics for allies, so they’ll focus on certain specifics like attacking or healing without manual directions.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past will come to the Nintendo 3DS in North America and Europe on September 16, 2016.
