Last month, the Rune Factory series celebrated its 10th anniversary, as the original Nintendo DS game was released on August 24, 2006 in Japan. To celebrate, this month Marvelous is honoring Rune Factory with a number of Rune Factory 4-related releases, with Famitsu offering images and screenshots of the celebratory items.

First, a Nintendo 3DS Rune Factory Home theme will be released in Japan. This theme will star the series’ heroines. From left to right, Rune Factory’s Mist, Rune Factory 2’s Mana, Rune Factory 4’s Frey, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny’s Sonja, and Rune Factory 3’s Shara appear alongside a Woolie. It will be released on September 7, 2016 and cost 200円. The song that plays on dates and during romantic events in Rune Factory 4 is the theme’s background music.

Free Rune Factory 4 costumes will also be added as part of Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns’ update on September 7, 2016. Players farmers will be able to dress up as either Lest or Frey, the possible hero and heroine from the previous Nintendo 3DS game.

No announcements have been made regarding a western release of the the Rune Factory 4 10th anniversary theme or Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns costumes. Rune Factory 4 is immediately available for the Nintendo 3DS. Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns will come to the Nintendo 3DS in other regions in 2017.
