Pre-order bonuses come with either digital purchase of Nioh. A Bloody Grave dynamic theme is available as an instant reward, as well as a Nioh armor that can be used in the game. Yosuke Hayashi, Nioh’s director, also offered some insights into the development of the game in the PlayStation Blog entry. In particular, he talked about the difficulty and fan feedback from the betas. When talking about enemy density, Hayashi said, “For example, some of the feedback we got from our users was that they didn’t want the battles to involve too many enemies, because it would be too challenging. So we looked at more one-on-one encounters where greater skill was required.” He also talked about specific attacks, saying, “For example, we had an enemy that throws a quick jab at you and causes immense damage, and it was difficult to avoid and defend against. So now these enemies may still attack you with the same level of damage, but we redesigned the movement of the jab itself so that it gives players a split second to dodge or block.”

Nioh will come to the PlayStation 4 worldwide on February 9, 2017.
