TinyWars tasks the player with assigning positions for an array of small, adorable spellcasters around the map, placing them so that they cut down the hordes of monsters that are marching toward their towers.
The game’s playable prototype (available on Windows and Android) offers two units to play around with over ten waves. Suzu, a witch with a scythe, does a short melee attack, but has a low placement cost. Kim, a fire witch, costs much more to put down, but can attack at range, able to hit units all the way across the map once she’s upgraded.
Players will need to decide how best to place these cute units to take down foes, paying attention to strengths and weaknesses. They will have several more units to utilize in the final version of the game as well.
Players who screw up their placements will have a chance to try the wave again. TinyWars offers a chance to retry the wave should the player choose that option before the wave ends, letting them do things all over again with no penalty. Players may want to test this feature now, as those who can get through the game’s prototype with perfect health are currently eligible for a prize.
