Bayonetta Update Reveals Vanquish Image

On April 24, 2017, an update was released for the PC version of Bayonetta on Steam. It was incredibly minor, only taking up 22KB of space. People have investigated and found PlatinumGames and Sega added exactly one thing, and that’s an image in the EXTRAS folder that shows Vanquish’s Sam Gideon in his Augmented Reaction Suit. (Thanks, NeoGAF!)

PlatinumGames and Sega released Vanquish, a third person shooter, on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2010. It was directed by Shinji Mikami and is known for combining elements from multiple game genres. For example, you can enter AR mode to slow down time and dodge enemy bullets, like in bullet hell games. Which is handy, since bullets can come from every direction. (Again, like a bullet hell game.) You can also speed up temporarily to dash to different areas and beat down enemies. There is also a BLADE system that lets you have three kinds of weapons equipped at a time.

Bayonetta is available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii U, and PC. Vanquish is available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
