NieR: Automata’s 3C3C1D119440927 DLC Offers All Kinds Of Rewards

Recommended Videos

Something special happened for fans of NieR: Automata. A 3C3C1D119440927 add-on was released. It seemed like something rather typical at the outset. Colosseums were added to the game to offer fights for folks who have already done everything. The more you play through it, though, the more you find. It isn’t just about cosmetic options. It is also about challenging yourself, getting some context for a song and music video, and remembering NieR.

First, you can actually start accessing NieR: Automata’s 3C3C1D119440927 DLC fairly early in the game if you haven’t already beaten it. Which is good, because people who earned ending E may have lost their saved data. If you haven’t earned any NieR: Automata endings yet, you’ll receive the Mysterious Letter email in your inbox after the City Ruins becomes the Flooded City. If you have earned any ending other than E, you should pick up anytime after chapter three with 2B, 9S, or A2 to start visiting the three colosseums.

There are three colosseums available and after you read that email, markers will be placed on the map. The colosseums in the Flooded City and Desert can be accessed by 2B, 9S, or A2, but you need 9S to enter the forest arena. A 1,000G fee must be paid for a membership card to enter. Once you go in, you can speak to personnel at the counter to take on a E, D, C, B, or A-rank challenge. E-rank is at level 25, to give you an idea of what level you should aim for before heading to a colosseum. Some of these fights can go up to level 130.

The rewards for the NieR: Automata colosseum fights vary. There are some unique rewards, like hair dyes, Emil head bullet skin, CEO heads, CEO heads bullets, and the NieR costumes. Other items will be chips that can make you stronger. The unique rewards come pretty quickly, though. For reference, the E-rank round will reward you with the different hair dyes for characters. To get the specific character costumes, you need to complete the level 80 fights in each arena. 2B will get a Kaine outfit from the Flooded City colosseum, 9S’ Nier costume is at the Forest’s arena, and A2’s Nier costume is earned in the Desert’s place.

The CEO fight only happens after badgering the android standing guard in the Flooded City colosseum. Constantly talking to him will let you fight Square Enix’s Yosuke Matsuda and PlatinumGames’ Kenichi Sato. Just do so three times, then say “Immersion schmimmersion!” Don’t go against them unless you’re strong enough to earn the NieR costumes from the level 80 fights, because both of these guys are hard.

After beating the level 80 colosseum battles in all three arenas and earning the costumes from each one, a small story segment can be viewed at the Amusement Park. Your Androids will be able to take an elevator down to a room where a stack of TVs are piled in a corner. Once there, they get to play through a segment as a certain character. People who purchased and saw the Machine Spear’s entire story may recognize him. Once it is completed, Amazarashi’s “Deserving of Life” music video plays.

There are also special rank fights. These come up after clearing the rank S colosseum fights, and they feature even larger hordes of robots. Defeating certain numbers of them will give you items that make NieR: Automata more difficult. Depending on where you are, the rewards differ. You get the Masamune Mask from the Forest, a 0 Exp Mask from the Desert, and 10 level-lowering Forbidden Fruits from the Flooded City.

NieR: Automata’s DLC definitely lets you do some new things. There’s a real challenge here, with fitting rewards. Plus, it’s easily accessible to almost all players, provided you didn’t go all the way with ending E. That you eventually get to visit the Amusement Park to see some special scenes and unlock even more challenges is an even better bonus. Though, given how hard some of those fights can be, it might be quite some time until every one of the add-on’s objectives are met.

NieR: Automata is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
