Join Us For The First Siliconera Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tournament

It’s been a while since we’ve had a Siliconera community game night, hasn’t it? Fortunately, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is here to rectify that. Today marks the start of our first tournament! It will run until 23:00 on May 15, 2017. The code to enter “Siliconera’s 1st” is 2377-8598-0459.

The first Siliconera Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament will be a Random Battle tournament, which means we won’t know if we’ll be engaging in Balloon Battle, Renegade Roundup, Bob-omb Blast, Coin Runners, or Shine Thief matches until they begin. There will be no teams and frantic items are set. Since I didn’t see the tournament as being active, I went ahead and made a new one where the Normal difficulty AI is on. All vehicles are allowed and no smart steering is allowed. I have a five round count set up. Any player rating is allowed. The only thing you need is a Switch, some free time this weekend, and the code 2377-8598-0459.

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament system is quite easy and effortless to set up. All you have to do is head into the online menu and scroll down to tournaments. You can Then set up a tournament, picking the mode, if there will be teams people can join, determine item usage, say whether there will be AI opponents, and which vehicles can be used. It is also possible to turn the smart steering feature on or off, as well as note how many rounds there will be. When arranging time, you can choose a fixed period, daily, or weekly, as well as set times and specific dates for fixed period matches. You can determine how many races or rounds will be held, depending on the mode selected, and decide on group shuffling, player ratings, and if it will be public or require a code.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available for the Nintendo Switch.
