Not one, but two Pokémon GO events are on the horizon. One is a typical event for everyone. The other is a real-world event in a specific city. Between June 13 and 30, 2017, a Solstice Event will begin. Then, on July 22, 2017, Grant Park in Chicago, IL will host the very first festival with Pokemon GO Fest Chicago.

Pokémon GO’s Solstice Event will make it easier to find certain kinds of Pokemon and offer rewards. More Fire- and Ice-types will be available throughout areas, which means you should see more Charmanders, Cyndaquils, Growliths, Houndooms, Seels, Sneasels, and so on. Lucky Eggs will be cheaper to buy from the shop, though the new temporary price wasn’t announced. Also, more XP will be given to people for every good, successful Poké Balls throw.

The Pokémon GO Fest Chicago is an official Niantic event. People will need to acquire tickets to gather in Grant Park and participate in various activities. Said activities have yet to be announced. But, we do know ticket sales will open on June 19, 2017 at 10am PT/12pm CT/1pm ET. More details may show up on the site for the event when they do.

In addition to the Chicago event, Pokémon GO events in Japan and Europe were hyped up. Between June and September 2017, Unibail-Rodamco malls in Europe will host celebrations for the game. In August 2017, Yokohama, Japan will experience a Pikachu Outbreak. However, you may see Gyms shutting down. Niantic is planning an update that involves “collaborative group gameplay.” Gyms will temporarily close ahead of the additions.

Pokémon GO is available for Apple iOS and Android devices. The game is coming up on its first birthday and has been downloaded over 750 million times worldwide.
