Five Nintendo Switch Bundles Available Mid-August at GameStop

Update 8/19: GameStop has introduced three new Switch bundles with delivery for September 1st. List below has been updated accordingly.

Remember last month when GameStop offered up five different Nintendo Switch bundles for sale at various price point? A similar batch of offers is now available yet again as new inventories of Nintendo Switch make their way into GameStops’ inventory. While people stock of Nintendo Switch is no doubt slowly balancing out demand across the country, many major parts of the US are still in short supply – this is evident more than ever with Nintendo’s latest console not being available for purchase online at common retailers such as Amazon or even Best Buy.

As of writing, GameStop is making five Nintendo Switch bundles available for pre-purchase on their online shop, with shipping as early as August 18, 2017, later this month. The bundles are priced from $399.99 all the way to $445.99. Why the price difference? Well, of course, GameStop will make an attempt to bundling in needless widgets and accessories with an in-demand console such as the Switch. You’ll find silly items including wall charger for cell phones (or the Joy-Con), to items such as the foam Minecraft pickaxe – which many of us can do without.

Having said that, some of the bundles are quite practical and in fact, probably will be items you’ll purchase anyway. Here are the five available bundles:

GameStop Switch Bundles List
Nintendo Switch Neon Joy-Con Zelda Fan Bundle $419.99
Nintendo Switch Gray Joy-Con Mario Kart Fan Bundle $424.99
Nintendo Switch Gray Joy-Con Adventure Bundle $464.99
Nintendo Switch Neon Joy-Con Splatoon Fan Bundle $404.99
Nintendo Switch Neon Joy-Con Minecraft Charge Bundle $429.99
Nintendo Switch Neon Joy-Con Adventure Bundle $445.99

Of them, we’ll go with either the Zelda Starter bundle or the Splatoon Fan bundle, both of which comes with must-have Switch titles and various accessories that aren’t a bad pickup. For example, the Zelda Starter bundle comes with Breath of the Wild and its digital expansion pass, plus an additional AC adapter with a separate USB Type C cable – so you can charge your Switch while on the go (if you want to keep the dock at home etc.). In the case of the Splatoon Fan bundle, you’ll receive Splatoon 2 along with a Splatoon deluxe travel case for your Switch, along with a Splatoon themed comfort grip for the Joy-Con.

As mentioned, these Nintendo Switch will be shipped by August 17, 2017, and unfortunately, GameStop to this date still charges a handling fee. You’ll also be subjected to sales tax, which is an unavoidable aspect given the retailer’s presence in all 50 states. But with reseller hawking Nintendo Switch (console only) at around $379.99 on sites such as eBay – GameStop’s proposition isn’t all too terrible, in our opinion.
