The Escapists 2 Brings Four Players Together For Co-Op Prison Breaks

Cute jailbreak game The Escapists 2 won’t just have players trying to break out of prison alone any more, allowing up to four players to work together towards complex prison escapes, or to vie for the fastest breakouts all on their own.

The Escapists 2 sticks its players in various types of prisons, from moving jail trains, ones buried in arctic tundra, and even some floating in space, tasking players with finding a way out. As a prisoner, players will need to appear to be following routines and behaving in front of the guards, hiding actions where they dig, seek out layout plans, and slowly whittle away at whichever means they hope will lead to escape.

This sandbox prison game now allows multiple players to work together toward large-scale prison breaks. Up to four players can play in online co-op, all of them working toward large-scale escapes that require all of them to be doing things at certain times, or trying to compete to see who can escape the quickest. This system is drop-in/drop-out, which allows players to work on their escapes whenever they have the time.

The Escapists 2 also adds some improvements to the previous game’s mechanics, offering a revamped combat system which makes fighting in a riot more involved, as well as adding some more means of getting out of jail.

The Escapists 2 is available now on Steam, PS4, and Xbox One.
