Finding Ji-Min Yoo In White Day: A Labyrinth Named School

Recommended Videos

One of the biggest changes in the PlayStation 4 and PC remake of White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is the inclusion of an entirely new character. The thing is, she isn’t exactly easy to find. Ji-Min Yoo takes quite a bit of time and dedication. In fact, I’ve only just found her myself and haven’t even completed the scenario. Those who want to find her in the game will need to test themselves and do their best.

Now, before we get into things, this will be a spoiler-free introduction to Ji-Min. No need to worry about being told about her storyline or scenario ahead of time. We’ll just be going over how to first unlock her, then find her in White Day: A Labyrinth Named School after she’s been unlocked.

Ji-Min is the youngest (living) character in White Day: A Labyrinth Named School, a year below the other hero and heroines. She’s a fan of So-Young Han. So much so, that she’s a little critical of Hee-Min Lee. She thinks he’s just like the other buys who idolize So-Young. I suppose you could call her a little precocious. But before you see her, you’ll see her handiwork. She’s drawn on the walls all around the school. There are 10 total, which is important, because you’re going to need to find all of them when you are eventually going through the route.

You’re also going to need to be brave of heart, because you will have to work for Ji-Min. There are five difficulty levels in White Day: A Labyrinth Named School. Since she is so closely tied with So-Young, you need to play through the game on at least Normal and earn the White Chrysanthemum ending. This means doing your best to stay in So-Young’s good graces. Don’t leave her behind. Be kind. Give her back her diary. Offer her something to drink. Since Normal is when things start getting scary, people who are scaredy cats like me might have to have a friend help them with this part.

After earning that ending, I went back and played through White Day: A Labyrinth Named School on Normal again. If you have done things correctly, then you will see Ji-Min at classroom 2-8. You may remember that the first time you see 2-8 in ordinary playthroughs, as Hee-Min remark that it is So-Young’s classroom. Don’t be kind to anyone other than So-Young and Ji-Min. Keep an eye out for those 10 drawings on the walls in rooms around the school. (Some are in hallways and others in rooms.) Then, after defeating the game’s first boss, don’t follow So-Young or choose her. Go to the fourth floor Bio Room.

From there, you’ll be able to see the new content. Just remember to take care and be kind to So-Young the first time around and stay alive. Perhaps use that first run to take note of where every doodle on the wall is. Then, when you’ve earned the White Chrysanthemum ending, go back and Ji-Min should be part of the story.

White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is available on the PC. It will come to the PlayStation 4 on August 29, 2017.
