Final Fantasy Explorers-Force, the upcoming smartphone game based on Final Fantasy Explorers for 3DS, got new footage at TGS 2017 showing how it plays.

The video starts out with a look at the town and base of operations, where players can use stamps and emotions to communicate with other players. Up to 100 players can be in the main lobby area at a time.

In Final Fantasy Explorers-Force players can change jobs with ease. So far it has Paladin as a tank job, Dragoon, Monk, Bard, and Black Mage for the DPS, and White Mage for the healer.

The micro-transaction gacha system will have different options to choose from. The first one is a gacha for weapons and equipment to power up your characters. The “Ability Gacha” lets you roll for various abilities, which range from special healing abilities that can only be used with long swords or abilities that let you equip a spear on any class. The third one is called “Gil Gacha” which wasn’t discussed but probably gives you a certain amount of in-game currency.

You can head to the 13:00 mark of the video to see more gameplay action when the player heads out to the field. Players have the option to start a quest or join one hosted by another. The quests seem pretty short with a time limit of 5 minutes, but it offers the option to play with other players online, with friends, or only with your NPC assistant characters. Upon completing a quest, players can send each other friend requests before returning to the lobby.

Lastly, head to the 22:30 mark to check out a battle against Ifrit.

Final Fantasy Explorers-Force is expected to launch in Japan this year for iOS and Android. A closed beta test for Android will be announced in the coming days.
