After showing off new footage back in August, there was a lot of talk about Shenmue III’s facial expressions and character models, and Ys Net showed off some progress in the latest development report.

This month we have our fourth progress report from the dev room.
What makes a character a character is their facial expressions, so this time we wanted to show you the progress on the facial front.

Director Yu Suzuki mentioned that most of the character models we’ve seen so far are temporary, so we can expect to see more lively expressions coming from Shenmue III’s characters as Ys Net continues work on its development. You can read more from the series creator in our previous report.
Shenmue III releases in the second half of 2018 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
