Yono is a young protector, but still means to put his trunk to work helping people with their problems, solving puzzles in dungeons, and thumping the occasional monster in the Zelda-like Yono and the Celestial Elephants.
Elephants are considered to be mighty protectors, born from the stars once a millennium in Yono and the Celestial Elephants. Yono has landed during a time when humans, zombies, and robots are at peace, but there are still some forces about that mean to cause trouble for them, and it’s up to Yono to use its abilities to help.
Yono can use his trunk to blast different elements in the environment to solve puzzles, sucking in air, water, and other things to shoot them out, fixing problems, getting machines working, or causing other effects. He can also load heavy items onto his back, which can be used to other types of conundrums as well. These powers can also be put to work in combat against monsters and scary bosses as well, although Yono can also just deliver a powerful headbutt, too.
As players explore the game’s four towns and three dungeons, they’ll uncover pieces of the game’s history through ancient texts, giving players an idea of the world’s history. They’ll also uncover items that can be used to make Yono a little tougher as well, should they be finding the monsters a bit too challenging.
