Nintendo Switch Reaches 10 Million Units In Worldwide Sales

Nintendo announced this morning that since the launch of its hybrid console back in March 3, the Nintendo Switch has sold 10 million units worldwide.

It hasn’t been a full year since the Nintendo Switch has released, and so far it has a robust and diverse library that includes two of the most acclaimed video games of all time in Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which we saw win a few awards during The Game Awards last week.

The console boasts a variety of multiplayer games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, and ARMS. Third-part titles are also coming along with big titles such as Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, FIFA 18, Rocket League, L.A. Noire, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Golf Story, and Stardew Valley.

Here’s a quote from Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aimé:

“As you can see in people’s living rooms, on a plane or riding the subway, fans all over the world can enjoy playing Nintendo Switch wherever they go. The response from fans has been great, and we’re doing our very best to satisfy demand during the holiday shopping season.”

After breaking records left and right in 2017, Nintendo plans for the Switch’s continued momentum in 2018, where we’ll see the release of several titles that have been announced, including Kirby Star Allies, Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, a new Yoshi game, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Mega Man 11, Project Octopath Travelers, Shovel Knight: King of Cards, and Runner3.
