Bloodstained will have a Crafting system that can be used to create new items and upgrade Miriam’s weapons, and Iga and his team uploaded a new Crafting Update video and a Kickstarter update, just in time to catch the super blue blood moon eclipse.
Here is Iga’s introduction to the mechanic:
“Hello everyone, this is IGA. For this backer update, we would like to share a part of the crafting system we introduced during the initial campaign. I don’t know whether we should call it crafting or alchemy, but the mechanics are the same either way—you can combine items to make yourself new items and equipment. In the video, you can watch us concoct a more powerful potion and add some bite to Miriam’s basic whip.”
Iga also teases that weapons and items are not the only items things that can be created in this sytem, with more info to come later.
He also updated on the current state of the game, which is undergoing the porting process to various gaming platforms, and showed off a new (presumably frustrating) flying enemy.
Iga and Bloodstained will also be making an appearance at South by Southwest 2018, with Q-and-A and a meet-and-greet events.
The Bloodstained crew also showed off a new fashion accessory for Miriam – a fox mask:
Finally, the Bloodstained crew teased the game’s Nintendo Switch version on Twitter:
