Bandai Namco held a special first hands-on experience event and development summit for God Eater 3 today, where it was revealed that the series’ longtime developer Shift isn’t working on the new title. Famitsu attended the event and shared some announcements.
Previously, Shift was the developer behind all of God Eater’s main titles dating back to the very first God Eater which released in February 2010 for PSP in Japan. The company also worked on God Eater: Burst, God Eater 2, God Eater 2: Rage Burst, and God Eater Resurrection. Shift also worked alongside SCE Japan Studio and Dimps in the development of Freedom Wars on PS Vita.
During the summit Bandai Namco revealed that their new development partner for God Eater 3 is Marvelous’ “First Studio” that is working on Fate/Extella Link, and it also features staff that worked on the Soul Sacrifice. The team includes Marvelous’ Ittetsu Suzuki who took on the role of development director for Soul Sacrifice with then-MarvelousAQL alongside SCE Japan and Comcept. His role for God Eater 3 is once again the development director.
The regular director of God Eater 3 is Wataru Atsumi who was previously an assistant director for God Eater Burst and other titles. The series general director Hiro Yoshimura and general producer Yosuke Tomizawa are also involved in the development alongside God Eater 3 producer Yuya Tomiyama.

God Eater 3 is in development for the PlayStation 4 and PC.
