New TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine Game FX Unit Yuki Mixes Shmups & Sidescrollers

By Joel Couture . May 8, 2018 . 5:00pm

FX Unit Yuki, formerly known as Henshin Engine, follows Yuki, a game tester, into a game of sidescrolling action and shmup play after she tries to use an experimental game console.

Players will work through a variety of sidescrolling stages, using Yuki’s attacks to take out evil crabs, nasty floating heads, and business suit-wearing bosses. When not jumping and attacking, players will also tackle a variety of shmup stages, using different ships to go shoot down dangerous robots and other menacing creatures. FX Unit Yuki offers eight stages of ever-changing play, offering several difficulty levels and endings to keep players coming back.

FX Unit Yuki is being released as a physical disc for the PC Engine/Turbografx-16. It is also coming to the Sega Dreamcast and Sega Genesis/Megadrive, although these versions are still pending.

The PC Engine/Turbografx 16 Super cd Rom version of FX Unit Yuki is available now through the game’s site.
