Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet was announced for PS4 and Switch as a new version of the Dead or Alive spinoff game, and Koei Tecmo shared additional details on what’s new.

The new version of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 features all nine girls of the base game in Kasumi, Momiji, Hitomi, Helena, Marie Rose, Honoka, Nyotengu, Kokoro, and Ayane. It adds Misaki from Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation as a new character and there will be one more new character revealed later, for a total of eleven girls in Scarlet.

The Nintendo Switch version of the game introduces a new “Soft 4D” engine that combines the Soft Engine and Nintendo Switch HD Rumble. Koei Tecmo says it aims to provide the feeling of various jiggles to go with the visuals of the Soft Engine before your eyes. The developers say players will get to experience a new kind of jiggling experience with the left and right Joy-Cons having their own movement and vibrations.

As for the PlayStation 4 version of the game, it will have VR support. Koei Tecmo says PS4 players will get to look forward to exciting experiences of being closer to the girls in VR Paradise with the PS4’s high graphics. It’s also worth noting that several features won’t be included in the PS4 version. These include the Jet Black Fans and Gold Fans that are used to loosen outfits, and the soft skincare items. Some paid DLC costumes will also be omitted on PS4.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet adds various adjustments and QoL improvements with it being easier to gain owner level and Zack Money, swimsuits added as in-game money purchases, and other fine-tuning that went into making various parts of the game more comfortable and easier to play.

A Collector’s Edition was also announced for 12,800 yen. It includes the following:

  • Xtreme Sexy Costumes Set (11 total)
  • Venus Collection photo book
  • Scarlet special forbidden swimsuit cards (2 cards)
  • Misaki Xtreme 3D mouse pad

The standard version goes for 7,800 yen. First-print copies come with a pair of “Forbidden Swimsuit” costumes.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet releases in Japan on March 20, 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
