Another system is getting SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, the compilation from SNK, Digital Eclipse, and NIS America that contains 24 classic games. On March 19, 2019, it will arrive on the PlayStation 4.
Only one difference has been announced for the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection PlayStation 4 version at the moment. The description for the trailer announcing the release states it will support 4K, should someone have PlayStation 4 Pro capable of it. The Nintendo Switch version offered a 1080p resolution.
Here is a retro-styled announcement trailer for the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection PlayStation 4 port. It singles out a few games in the collection, like Athena, Ikari Warriors, and Crystalis.
In the Nintendo Switch version of the collection, Alpha Mission, Athena, Crystalis, Ikari Warriors, Ikari III: The Rescue, Guerrilla War, P.O.W., Prehistoric Isle in 1930, Psycho Soldier, Street Smart, TNK III, Vanguard, and Victory Road were immediately available at launch. The free DLC games Beast Busters, Bermuda Triangle, Chopper I, Fantasy, Munch Mobile, Ozma, Paddle Mania, SAR: Search and Rescue, Sasuke vs Commander, Time Soldiers, and World Wars were added later. It is unknown if the PlayStation 4 version will have all games available at launch or a staggered release as well.
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is immediately available on the Nintendo Switch.
