Favorite Gamecube Games

While the Playstation and the Xbox have large amounts of best hit titles, the Gamecube has a comparably small number. In America and Europe the best hits titles are part of the Gamecube's Player's Choice collection. In Japan there isn't a definite collection of best hits yet, although some companies have been re-releasing top selling games.
Read on for the list.

First we must note that the games that are listed in Japan are not part of the player's choice program, they are part of Sega's "the best" collection for Gamecube. The games that are part of that collection are top selling Sega games with similar requirements to the player's choice requirements. If you take that into account the only game with universal acclaim would be Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, but since there is no official player's choice collection in Japan time will tell what other games will be added.

Most of the games on the list are Gamecube exclusives made by Nintendo. Of course names like Mario, Luigi, Metroid and Star Fox are on the list. Other popular titles are Pikmin and Super Smash Brothers: Melee. Animal Crossing is a player's choice title only in the US, but will be one in Europe after it cycles through as a "new" game.

Nintendo has quite a few titles they could add to their list that don't appear there yet. Of course the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will be added to the list along with Mario Kart: Double Dash in the future. We're pretty sure we'll see Resident Evil: Zero and 1080 Avalanche there too. For the Japanese list things are a little more hazy. Since a list hasn't been developed yet almost anything can appear there. When a Japanese list is released we'll be sure to update this section with further details.
