Capcom wont give up the 2D fighting games yet. Good thing Capcom has already carved a niche genre with its vs. series games. Now that the license deal with SNK has run up and Capcom vs. Sammy doesn't seem plausible anymore Capcom's latest 2D fighter goes back to their fighting game roots. This two on two tag team battle contains characters from classic Capcom fighters such as: Street Fighter, Street Fighter Three, Street Fighter Alpha (SFA), Vampire Chronicles (Darkstalkers), and Warzard (Red Earth) star in this mega mix. Characters from different games have different natural abilities. For instance original Street Fighter characters don't have an air block, while SFA characters do. The roster of the basic characters are as follows:

From original Street Fighter 2: Ryu, Guile, M. Bison (Vega), Zangief (notably absent Ken)
From Street Fighter 3 Third Strike: Yun, Chun Li, Alex, Urien
From Street Fighter Alpha: Guy, Sakura, Rose, Karin
From Vampire Chronicles (Darkstalkers): Demitri, Felicia, Jedah, Ankaris
From Warzard (Red Earth): Leo, Hauzer, Muruko, Nool
