Nintendo iQue System
The iQue is a new Nintendo system that is sold exclusively in China, but it is believed that the iQue will be available in the United States and Japan later on. The iQue is designed to play Nintendo 64 games and SNES games that can be downloaded on a SMC memory card. The system ships with a 64MB card that comes packaged with five games: The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Wave Race 64, Star Fox 64 and Dr. Mario, of course all of the games are in Chinese. Most of the games have a time limit and after you pass the time limit you will either have to renew the time limit or purchase the full game. Luckily games are a couple of bucks, and while no other games are announced it seems that a lot of the games will be N64 and SNES ports. So what's the big deal with this whole iQue thing anyway? Well, for retro gamers you'll be able to play a smorgasbord of retro games on the iQue and get them for a cheap price. The system itself is under $100 (including all importing fees) and games are about $5. Another thing is this system is the first system to ever support downloading of games and for a cheap price! Could this be a cue for the third generation systems to offer similar deals, only time will tell. However, the iQue has a lot of promise, there's a lot of classic games Nintendo can draw upon and if they throw in a few exclusive games this system will be a winner.
