Dinosaurs and Katakana is an arcade style katakana training game. Every dinosaur on this island carries a katakana symbol often used for foreign words. All you need to do to kill this velociraptor is type in “te”, the romanization for this katakana symbol and hit enter.

In the future you won’t be given helper English text. You will have to remember the katakana symbol above represents “te”. Don’t worry, if you type in an incorrect response Dinosaurs and Katakana will remind you what the correct romanization is, but this will reset your combo meter. The combo meter is in the top right hand corner. Try not to break your combo and aim for the best score!

If a dinosaur catches up to the runners on the left side of the screen it eats one of them. Lose all of your runners and it’s game over. You can get another runner by catching a swimmer with the correct response for the katankana. Up to five runners can be in your group at one time.

Once the game is over you can save your score in the leaderboards. Check to see where you stand with the rest of the world. Dinosaurs and Katakana randomizes groups or waves of katakana so you won’t see the katakana symbols in the same order each time you play.

There are some secret passwords to discover too… see if you can find them!

Ready? Let’s play Dinosaurs and Katakana!
