Yume Neko DS Day 5: Reno’s status

By Jenni . May 16, 2008 . 12:07pm

I knew cats were complicated, but I had no idea just how tricky it was to keep them happy until Yume Neko DS came along. During the game, the upper screen displays a series of bars that each cover a certain aspect of Reno’s well-being. Since there wasn’t much to do before the shopping trip, most of the bars are either entirely empty, or in the red.

Valkyria Chronicles: Forever Remembered

By Rolando . May 15, 2008 . 7:50pm

There really aren't enough words to help me begin this introduction to my Valkyria Chronicle's playtest. It had seemed for quite some time that Sega had completely forgotten the SRPG (or RPG in general) genre completely, what with its Shining…

By Jeriaska . May 14, 2008 . 10:23am

With A-East up and running, thanks to a last minute intervention by Beat and Rhyme, chapter four begins with a scene between a bespectacled woman Reaper a French maid outfit and a young man with a hyena's grin in a…

Fork over five for Defend Your Castle

By Levi . May 13, 2008 . 1:19pm

With yesterday's launch of WiiWare, the Wii has finally entered the world of downloadable original games. And while the launch lineup may be a bit meager, numbers-wise, there's definitely some quality to be found among the titles. Take, for example,…

Yume Neko DS Day 1: Getting Started

By Jenni . May 12, 2008 . 10:58am

Yume Neko DS (aka Dream Cats DS) is essentially Nintendogs with felines. It’s an incredibly polished and well executed pet sim, which should come as no surprise since it is from Sega. My copy arrived the other day, and I eagerly created a kitty.

My experience as a Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles king

By Spencer . May 11, 2008 . 8:22am

Good morning Chancellor Chime. Thanks for the report on my two warrior Clavats, Doris and Ansel. With only two warriors in the kingdom I wish there was a way to create more warriors with a male and a female other…

Chasing bad boy Taro in Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side 2nd Season

By Jenni . May 8, 2008 . 12:51pm

Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side: 2nd Season had two special guys added into the game by Konami for the DS release. One, Taku Komori, was an adorably easy to win sweetheart. Then there’s Taro Majima. Taro’s harder to win over, and to be perfectly frank - he’s a jerk. He’s one of those guys who thinks he’s perfect (even though he’s not attractive) and he is going to spend the entire game screwing you over.

Destiny doesn’t change combat for Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden 2

By Spencer . May 7, 2008 . 10:05pm

It’s easy to imagine Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden 2 as a portable version of Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX 2. Shinobi Retsuden 2 contains many of the same characters. It uses some of the same jutsu animations, only with…

Relearning R-Type, learning R-Type Command

By Louise . May 7, 2008 . 12:18pm

I'm not new to the world of SRPGs, but sadly to say, I am new to the world of hex-grid-based space SRPGs.  Wow, that's a mouthful.  All I know about R-Type was that it was a shmup, but I guess…

That’s QT is definitely a cutie

By Jenni . May 6, 2008 . 4:13pm

That’s QT is a curious blend of fashion design and business management. It looks simple and, as the title suggests, cute, but in reality is a complex and surprisingly deep game. It is so good, and so much fun, that I hope Koei decides to release it in North America. If it doesn’t, well, That’s QT is import friendly and can be played even if you don’t speak Japanese.
