3,800 yen to experience Fatal Inertia extras

By Spencer . May 9, 2008 . 10:22am

Fatal Inertia must have been a development nightmare for Koei Canada. Koei originally announced the Wipeout-style racer as a PlayStation 3 launch title. After appearing on the Xbox 360, nearly a year after the PS3 launch, it’s coming out sometime…

That’s QT is definitely a cutie

By Jenni . May 6, 2008 . 4:13pm

That’s QT is a curious blend of fashion design and business management. It looks simple and, as the title suggests, cute, but in reality is a complex and surprisingly deep game. It is so good, and so much fun, that I hope Koei decides to release it in North America. If it doesn’t, well, That’s QT is import friendly and can be played even if you don’t speak Japanese.

Samurai Warriors 2 Xtreme Legends now live on Live

By Spencer . April 14, 2008 . 11:46am

It seems like everyone has forgotten about Samurai Warriors 2. We’ve moved on to Dynasty Warriors 6 and Warriors Orochi while Koei is breathing life into one of their older titles with an expansion pack. Samurai Warriors 2 Extreme Legends…

Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends digitally delayed

By Spencer . March 20, 2008 . 2:00am

Sengoku Musou 2: Moushouden (Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends) is extremely late to the Xbox 360 party. Koei released the Samurai Warriors 2 expansion disc on the PlayStation 2 last August in Japan. It was supposed to come to the…

Watch – Gundam Musou Special stacked up against Gundam Musou

By Spencer . March 11, 2008 . 8:15pm

I’m pretty sure interest in Gundam Musou is waning if not depleted since Namco Bandai released this as Dynasty Warriors: Gundam in North America last year. However, Gundam Musou is pretty unique beyond the license mashup, it’s the only game…

Quick Hands on Warriors Orochi on the PSP

By Spencer . February 21, 2008 . 11:25pm

At this point you either love Dynasty Warriors (aka Shin Sangoku Musou) or you’re sick of it. It seems like a few people at GDC are in the former category since the single playable build of Warriors Orochi was usually…

More RPGs for Wii, Opoona crash lands in March

By Spencer . February 7, 2008 . 8:06am

While we’re on the subject of role playing games on the Wii it’s an opportune time to mention Opoona’s release date. Koei will release a localized version of the (first?) “lifestyle RPG” on March 25. Opoona does have combat sequences…

Clash swords and spears in Orochi Musou: Maou Sarin’s versus mode

By Spencer . February 3, 2008 . 2:59pm

Koei is giving fans of the crossover Orochi Musou series a sequel. Orochi Musou: Maou Sarin (loosely Second Coming of the Devil) is scheduled to come out on April 3rd in Japan. Besides the requisite addition of characters Koei is adding…

Koei experimenting with Xbox 360 downloadable expansion packs

By Spencer . January 18, 2008 . 2:34pm

Nearly every Samurai Warriors (Sengoku Musou) or Dynasty Warriors (Shin Sangoku Musou) game gets a follow up. Koei isn’t shy about capitalizing on a base game, but with Samurai Warriors 2 they are trying a new strategy. Sengoku Musou 2…

Smiling mitten helps DS owners cook sweets

By Spencer . January 11, 2008 . 3:04pm

The novelty of Nintendo DS training software has almost worn out its welcome with me. If I want to really learn yoga I’m content with taking classes or reading a book to brush up on my JR train knowledge. However,…

Every few months Namco Bandai is rolling out a new version of Gundam Musou in Japan. The PlayStation 3 version arrived in March 2007. In December 2007, Gundam Musou: International came out for the Xbox 360, which was essentially the…

Koei’s dating x RPG series set to woo Wii owners

By Spencer . January 4, 2008 . 9:46am

The Harukanaru Toki no Naka de games are an interesting hybrid of the niche, visual novel dating games found in Japan and console RPGs. Essentially, each game puts you in the role of female lead who saves the world while…
