Report: Microsoft In Discussions To Buy Minecraft Developer Mojang

Recommended Videos

Microsoft are in “serious discussions” to acquire Mojang, the developer of Minecraft, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. The publication cites an anonymous source with “knowledge of the matter”.

The deal is reportedly worth $2 billion, and could be signed as early as this week.

Should a deal between the two companies come through, it should be interesting to see what happens to the Minecraft franchise, which, so far, has remained multiplatform, and is available on numerous devices.
