Samurai Champloo Volume 3

By Spencer . November 16, 2005 . 5:59pm

After Fuu, Mugen and Jin escape battling rival gangs in the last two episodes the two are off to search out for the Sunflower Samurai again. But they’re broke and have no way of getting to Edo to continue their search. The three of them have to search for some way to get fast cash. Mugen beats up some thugs for pocket change while Jin plays a game of Shogi. Fuu looks like she’s going to strike it rich when an ukiyoe painter wants to paint Fuu as his backwards beauty. Is this the job of her dreams or is this another naïve mistake by Fuu?

In episode six the trio get to Edo and enter an eating contest. All you can eat sounds like a good deal after not eating for a few days. Since none of them have any money Mugen and Jin put their swords in for entry. Luck isn’t on their side, they don’t win. Just to get their swords back all of them guide the winner, Joji around Edo. Joji isn’t exactly what he seems and his presence is bound to get everyone in trouble… again.

The two episodes in Samurai Champloo Volume 3 for the PSP can be watched individually, well suited for while waiting for in line for your Xbox 360. As for any other extras on the disc… there isn’t much just a few trailers for other Geneon releases. At least there are subtitles and the Japanese language track in addition to the two episodes.
