Spicy Horse Games, the developer of Alice: Madness Returns, are looking for someone to cosplay as Alice and star in an upcoming Kickstarter video for Alice: Otherlands.

If you played American McGee’s Alice you probably know this, but I’ll mention it first since many trailers make the game look like Bayonetta or something similar. Alice: Madness Returns, like the original game, is primarily a platformer with bits of combat.

As a last resort, when Alice is low on health she can trigger hysteria mode. This gives her powers similar to the Rage Box from American McGee’s Alice and sucks almost all of the color out of the world.

That’s only one of the two bunnies you’ll see in this Alice: Madness Returns intro movie.

Along with announcing a July 21 release date for Japan, Electronic Arts released this trailer of Alice shifting between London and Wonderland. North America gets Alice: Madness Returns a month earlier on June 14.

The ESRB descended into Alice: Madness Returns and pointed out a few enemy types from Spicy Horse’s game. In addition to card guards, players will fight teapots and doll creatures with exposed brains.

An interesting tidbit about Alice: Madness Returns is levels do not begin in Wonderland. You start off in London and control Alice as a regular girl.

I played through the entire Alice: Madness Returns demo, which began with Alice in the ruins of the Queensland.

Alice: Madness Returns has Alice returning to Wonderland once again, mentally unstable, this time seeking comfort in its familiarity.
