In the not so distant future, Aksys will release their first DSiWare game and it’s a localization of an existing Arc System Works game.
A PSP port of BlazBlue is in development.
There’s a bit of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift gameplay footage to see and (surprise!) it looks like BlazBlue!
While Amazon has it available for $18.76, it’ll only cost you $15 to pick it up directly from Aksys.
BlazBlue is coming to Europe early next year thanks to PQube, a company so new their website isn’t even live. Their announcement also had a slip of the keyboard and leaked Arc System Works’ future plans.
Aksys and Arc System Works, the company behind Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, are tight. Their names are coincidentally similar, if you take the Japanese abbreviation “ArcSys” into account. Does Arc System Works actually own Aksys?
Aksys is in the process of localizing OD Beat Drop, a rhythm based block dropping game for Xbox Live Arcade from a studio that worked on Every Extend Extra Extreme.
Sikamako, the creator of geek humor videos like Sega Fantasy VI where classic consoles teamed up to fight a PSP Final Fantasy VI style, has a grudge against Spelunker.
Aside from publishing fighting games Arc System Works releases visual novels. Since Aksys is the primary source for Arc System Works games in North America I asked what they thought about the genre in North America.
BlazBlue is just starting out, but it has fire behind it. The console version came out last week, with a lot of hype for a fighting game not tied to an established franchise.
