If you can wait until January 5 you can get Bayonetta and an exclusive pre-order item. Bayonetta will go on sale in Europe a few days later on January 8.
The Japanese PlayStation 3 version is region free and entirely in English.
Usually, third party publishers like Sega advertise multiplatform games with one ad and list of all the consoles it’s on at the end. But, Bayonetta is such a big deal in Japan it gets two ads.
In case you didn’t know PlatinumGames isn’t fully responsible for the PlayStation 3 version of Bayonetta.
As promised, a Bayonetta demo is available on PSN and, if you have a Japanese XBLA gold account, Xbox Live too.

After a scathing report about the PlayStation 3 version of Bayonetta, Tatsuya Minami, President of PlatinumGames, candidly explained they didn’t handle the PS3 version.
Sandwiched between suplexing dragons and gigatons of damage is a plot. Bayonetta about two witch clans, the Umbra and Lumen, entangled in a war. Witch hunts, initiated by humans, almost eliminated the Umbra, but one survivor remains…
Chin up, 360 owners. There may be a way for you and PlayStation 3 owners who don’t want to import to play Bayonetta this year.
In an effort to make Bayonetta the most accessible stylish action game, PlatinumGames added a one button control system called automatic mode.
Sega threw a party for Bayonetta and fans got a chance to meet Hideki Kamiya and Mari Shimazaki, the character designer. Both members from PlatinumGames were happy to take photos with fans and sign glossy Bayonetta pictures Sega passed out at the event.
Bayonetta will come out in Japan on October 29, but it won’t come out stateside until January 2010.
Before Hideki Kamiya acted as the director of Bayonetta, he created iconic video game characters such as Leon Kennedy and Dante. Besides being owned by Capcom, these characters have one other thing in common. They’re both male.
Bayonetta is one smooth stylish action game. It’s not going to revolutionize the genre, but the over the top torture attacks will spark plenty of “whoa” moments.
Sega squeaked out one more Bayonetta trailer before we get our hands on the game at E3. The clip shows some of her other weapons like missile launchers and an enemy witch just as agile as Bayonetta.
