Man, it is a sad, sad world when you have to start building countries atop living creatures. I mean, Gigant I can kind of imagine, since the top of him is flat, but with Fenrir?

A light shines and suddenly, in its place stands a human, only a fraction of his original size. He brandishes his (relatively enormous) sword at the monster before him. Who happens to be the appropriately named Gigant, the one-armed giant.

With a name like Blood of Bahamut you know it’s going to have dragons and Bahamut in it. With only a week until its comes out Square Enix blasted a bunch of media with giant monsters.

Ibuki’s struggles against Ifrit and Gilgamesh lead up to Chaos Bahamut, a new version of the dragon that appears before those who have defeated all the other giant monsters. He’s even more powerful with godlike powers.

Square Enix’s multiplayer action RPG, Blood of Bahamut, is also the esper/eidolon/aeon cameo RPG. Gilgamesh joins Shiva and Ifrit as the latest Final Fantasy summon monster crossover.

Instead of introducing Blood of Bahamut with a pre-rendered cutscene Square Enix gave us gameplay. Now we’re seeing a portion of the story and Bahamut is the “bad” guy.

Finally, an update about Blood of Bahamut that isn’t just another batch of screenshots! Square Enix’s multiplayer RPG will be finished on August 6.
