The PlayStation 3 game has androgynous characters (typical Square Enix design) while Nier Gestalt’s hero looks more like Conan the Barbarian.
Star Ocean: The Last Hope International, which is Star Ocean: The Last Hope with Japanese and English voice acting is slated for release in Japan on February 4, 2010.
Square Enix officially announced Nier Gestalt for Japan and like Famitsu said it’s “only” coming out for the Xbox 360.
Famitsu indicates something curious is going on with NieR. The latest issue lists NieR Gestalt only as an Xbox 360 game with a 2010 release window. If you recall, the game was supposed to be multiplatform for both high-def consoles.
Square Enix announced Nier this morning, but didn’t divulge details. This trailer shows a lot more of the game, introduces the hero who looks like a Viking, and the shadowy creatures he fights.
Nier is an upcoming action game set in a world ruined by pestilence. Nier is also the name of the hero who is seaching for a cure to the Black Scrawl virus which infected his daughter.
Last year Capcom released a Powerstone-like fighting game called Fate/Tiger Colosseum. I skipped it due to a lack of familiarity with the source material, Fate/Stay night, but I thought it was quite amusing Capcom went the super deformed route.
