Let me preface this review by saying one thing: while I enjoy 2D Metroid style games, I can only play them so long before getting lost, frustrated, bored, or all of the above. That said, I also have to say, I am head-over-heels in love with Shadow Complex.

It’s clear that Shadow Complex is inspired by games like Metroid. They even have a little nod to Samus’ adventure with their “Jason Bailey” achievement that you unlock if you get a 100% clear rating in just two hours.

Does an Xbox Live Game called Undertow ring any bells? Microsoft gave it out as a freebie to compensate for Xbox Live downtime. That happened in January 2008.
