By Spencer . May 14, 2009 . 10:51am

Like other games in the New Play Control! lineup Nintendo revamped Chibi-Robo with motion control. In this version you point with the remote and click to make the tiny robot move. Originally, players controlled Chibi Robo with the analog stick on a Gamecube pad.

Chibi-Robo Developers Were, At One Time, Planning A FPS

By Spencer . December 8, 2008 . 1:47pm

Skip is one of the most sanguine video game studios around. This company was behind the pleasant, but unreleased in North America, Giftpia and delightful Chibi-Robo. Sure, Chibi-Robo shoots mecha-spiders with an arm cannon, but it’s still hard to imagine jovial Skip dabbling with the first person shooter genre. What happened to the project?   […]

Unreleased point and Chibi-Robo

By Spencer . May 9, 2008 . 4:05pm

Skip released Chibi-Robo on the Gamecube, but not the Chibi-Robo seen in these videos. This gameplay footage is taken from a Chibi-Robo beta where the tiny hero emerged from an orange Gamecube in an inventor’s lab.     Notice the moving cursor? In this build Chibi-Robo had point and click style controls. It looks […]

Dear Readers, Don’t forget about Chibi-Robo

By Spencer . October 2, 2007 . 10:16am

There’s no question that The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is going to get a lot of attention this week. And it should, it’s a great game. I dug the timed dungeons and I admit I have a soft spot for the younger, upbeat, cel-shaded Link. However, before it falls into complete obscurity Chibi Robo: […]

Chibi Robo only found in Walmart

By Spencer . August 8, 2007 . 9:16pm

In a stunning move, Nintendo decided to restrict sales of Chibi Robo: Park Patrol to Walmart when it comes out on October 2. Wal-Mart isn’t usually the place to showcase niche games, it’s something better suited at a major video game retailer like (love it or hate it) Gamestop. In the past Nintendo has given […]

Chibi Robo: Park Patrol cancelled? Golin Harris comments

By Spencer . July 31, 2007 . 11:52pm

We heard the rumor that Gamestop / EB Games cancelled pre-orders of Chibi Robo: Park Patrol and to get to the bottom of this I sent an e-mail over to Golin Harris who takes care of Nintendo’s PR for additional information. Here’s what I got back:   We’ve seen the same and we’re not aware […]

Screen Gallery – Chibi Robo: Park Patrol

By Spencer . July 3, 2007 . 2:58pm

It comes out next week in Japan and Nintendo already has English screenshots of the Chibi Robo: Park Patrol to see. In the new gallery you can see Chibi-Robo driving a buggy, watering plants with his “squirter” and dancing with a boom box to make flowers produce seed.   Chibi Robo: Park Patrol takes place […]

Far from little, Chibi Robo media explosion

By Spencer . June 28, 2007 . 12:46pm

Now that the Phantom Hourglass is out Nintendo’s Japanese branch is focusing on Chibi Robo: Park Patrol. GoNintendo noticed the official site opened up with a series of gameplay videos. The bottom screen is used as an all-purpose control panel where you select items and perform actions. Just like the Gamecube game, Chibi Robo uses […]

Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol screenshots spotted

By Spencer . June 5, 2007 . 7:33am

After appearing at E3 last year Nintendo hasn’t said much about Chibi Robo: Park Patrol besides the September 24 release date. Finally some new screenshots showed up on Famitsu, but the graphics aren’t looking good. Some of the charm of the series seems lost with the creepy smiling flowers and messy backgrounds. On the […]
