Corpse Party uses more than the traditional “sudden scare.” In the first scene alone, you learn the personality of each of the nine characters and grow attached to them.

The story begins with a group of high school students that find themselves in Heavenly Host Elementary School after practicing a pagan ritual.

Corpse Party is slated for release this month on the PlayStation Network.

“If it were too flat, the impact of these descriptions would be lost; but if it were too over-the-top, they’d simply become silly. Finding that middle ground took a little practice,” said Tom Lipschultz, Localization Specialist.

“I go into work the next day and start raving about [Corpse Party], but as my coworkers can attest to, I do that all the time, as I’m admittedly a pretty big video game fanboy. But this time is different,” Tom Lipschultz recounts.

Something Xseed mention that we hadn’t heard before is that Corpse Party features simulated 3D surround sound.
