DARKSIDERS II |
Nordic Games have released a batch of comparison screenshots showing off the new visuals.
Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and Nordic Games intend to continue the franchise.
Microsoft are holding a discount sale on Xbox Live for the next seven days.
Nordic Games, publisher of games like Painkiller HD, Singstar, Book of Unwritten Tales and more has acquired a number of properties from bankrupt publisher THQ.
“Put 7 years of heart and soul into that franchise, and I think it belongs at home with its creators,” says David Adams, CEO of Crytek USA.
You can grab the first Darksiders along with Red Faction: Armageddon and the Red Faction: Armageddon Path to War DLC for as little as $1.
THQ are now selling off their remaining assets as well, the bankrupt publisher announced in a press release this afternoon.
THQ will auction off its properties title by title later this month, with Warner Bros. and Electronic Arts interested as potential buyers.
The Demon Lord Belial pack will take place on a post-apocalyptic Earth, where Death encounters Belial along with the remnants of humanity.
The new Shadow Lands area will feature a new visual style according to THQ, and will contain two new dungeons to play through.
Joe Madureira, co-founder of Darksiders studio, Vigil Games, is parting ways with the company he helped create.
Also on the list were Darksiders II and New Super Mario Bros. 2, bringing some nice variety to the top-ten. [Updated with some sales figures.]
“We didn’t want to re-create DMC and Bayonetta, but we wanted to re-create the feeling of open-ended combat; allow players to come up with their own combos and be creative. In the first game, that was a little lacking.”
Death is pretty capable when it comes to tearing things apart. There seem to be some cues taken from Devil May Cry in regards to the game’s combat.
