The publisher behind Kumatanchi, a Nintendo DS title from Vanillaware, and the Pinky Street games is out of business.
Poor Evil has it pretty rough. In Pinky St Kira Kira Music Hour, the DS dancing game based on the Pinky St line of figurines, she thought she’d be picked by Ange as the successor and lead dancer for Club Angela. Instead, some “green girl” named Puuchi came along, learned from dancers in other districts and outdanced Evil to inherit Ange’s position in Angela.
The Pinky St. figurines have grown quite popular in Japan due to the adorable character designs, customization options and interchangable parts. They’ve even inspired PS2 (Mahoroba Stories) and DS games (Pinky St. Kira Kira Music Hour, Pinky St. Kira Kira Music Night). Some of the most popular Pinky St. releases, however, are versions of popular video game characters.
