The Disgaea series has seen strong sales and part of Nippon Ichi’s recovery strategy is making a new Disgaea game for PlayStation 3.

Nippon Ichi unveiled Disgaea Infinite and it isn’t a strategy RPG. Actually, it isn’t even a RPG, it’s a visual novel with a time loop feature.

Axel mode in Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days features a washed out hero (or I should say anti-hero) who really just wants to reclaim his old glory. Players take control of Axel and his new, loving side-kick Pink as he fights for his own space in the spotlight.

Mabel, the star of Nippon Ichi’s next PSP game Princess Antiphona, is making an appearance in Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days as a free downloadable character in Japan.

Just like the PlayStation 2 game, Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days has two voice tracks. Our copy came in and in the options menu you can switch between Japanese and English voiceovers.

Despite what NIS America said your old Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice save data will work with the newly released trophy patch.
